“I was thinking this is going to sound amazing, he’s in a TV studio this will be great – but no,” joked Graham, as Dan was speaking to him ahead of presenting Football Focus.
“Sorry, at least there’s no delay on the line I know you had a few issues with Gal Gadot (actress) on your TV show last night but I can hear you perfectly,” clarified the guest.
After Dan apologised to Graham, he went on to address his feud with TV rival Piers Morgan.
It came as Graham asked Dan a few questions sent in from his listeners at the end of his interview.
Graham said: “Last one, Liam in St Albans wants to know, have you met Piers Morgan and is your breakfast TV rivalry genuine?”
Dan joked he didn’t know who Graham was talking about, jibing: “Sorry, who’s that?”
“You chance them every day, don’t you?” Graham acknowledged.
Dan soon set the record straight on his relationship with Piers: “Listen, I actually went to Piers’ 50th birthday party.

“I think under all that froth and bile there’s a nice person fighting to get out most of the time,” he confessed.
“Well, they should try harder!” Graham joked.
Elsewhere, Dan was forced to quickly backtrack on BBC Breakfast during the week after he discussed a member of his family.
The presenter, who is married to Sarah Walker, had intended to say his brother is “married to an American” on the show, but accidentally made the comment in reference to his wife instead.
Dan spoke out about the awkward blunder on Twitter after a viewer questioned his remark.
They wrote: “@BBCBreakfast @mrdanwalker #breakingnews… Dan’s wife is married to an American?? Ooer, you heard it on breakfast first.”(sic)
Dan retweeted the fan’s post in view of his 672,000 followers and took the opportunity to insist he and his other have “don’t have that sort of marriage”.
Addressing his error, he wrote: “Ooops. Just to confirm… we don’t have that sort of marriage. Bit of work to do when I get home later #BBCBreakfast,” the star added alongside a crying with laughter emoji.
