Hollyoaks Jorgie Porter announces engagement after heartbreaking miscarriage of quadruplets

Jorgie Porter has announced that she is engaged to her partner Ollie Piotrowski.

The Hollyoaks’ actress shared the happy news over Instagram on Sunday with a sweet photo of herself with Ollie, who is seen planting a kiss on her cheek as she showed off a giant sparkly diamond ring.

“OMG,” Jorgie simply captioned, adding on Instagram Stories later: “He did it…my forever!!!”

The 33-year-old was quick to receive congratulatory messages after her announcement from friends along with many of her 692,000 followers in the comments.

"OMG OMG OMG CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSS,” wrote fellow Hollyoaks’ cast member Bethannie Hare.

"Congratulations,” added Chelsee Healey, followed by Steph Waring who said: “Congratulations to both of you!!! Wow!!! So happy for you!"

Other famous names included in offering up praise were Helen Flanagan, Amelia Lily and This is England star Thomas Turgoose.

Jorgie went public with her relationship with Ollie in October of last year, confirming they were together and “very content and happy” on her podcast Loose Lips.

News of her engagement comes weeks after revealing that she suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage at 14 weeks with four babies back in August.

"I’d not had any sign that things weren’t OK. No pain or bleeding, I was getting bigger, my boobs were growing, I had so much hair on my body and I still felt pregnant,” Jorgie told Fabulous magazine.

“When the consultant performed the scan then said: ‘You’ve miscarried,’ I was in total shock.”

The actress spoke about how the tragic experience made her connection with beau Ollie even stronger, adding: "If we can get through this, we can get through anything."

On her podcast, Jorgie reflected back on the traumatic time, revealing to Sharon Carpenter that she had kept the miscarriage to herself at first after finding it too “raw” to speak about.

“Nobody really tells you about miscarriage. It's not taught at schools. We're finding this things out in magazines and on [social media platforms],” she said.

The Hollyoaks’ star followed on by saying that she felt that "the whole entire journey of the pregnancy was very stressful” and that she didn’t feel she could "relate” to anyone else after going through her miscarriage.

After opening about her hard last few weeks, Jorgie went on Instagram to explain that she would be taking time away from social media to heal from her experience.
