PIERS Morgan showed his softer side on today's Good Morning Britain as he wished his daughter Elise a happy 9th birthday.
The host is celebrating his fifth anniversary on the show today as well in a bumper celebration.
He said: "I just wanted to say a very happy ninth birthday to my little girl, Elise. She is nine years old today. She had a massive socially-distanced party yesterday for one with a little cake.
"Elise, I know you’re watching. Happy birthday, and we’ll celebrate later. Have a lovely day at school."
He then played Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday for her, revealing it was a song that held an extra special place in his heart.
The legendary singer played a part in Piers's engagement to wife Celia Walden.
When he was in LA, Piers bumped into the singer and asked him to record a message telling Celia to say yes, which she duly did.
Earlier in the show, Piers and Susanna reflected on their successful time together that has seen ratings double.
Fittingly for a wooden anniversary, Susanna presented Piers with two puppets.
Piers said: "Who would have thought it? It's been a rocky road, to put it lightly. We're still here."
Susanna replied: "Congratulations. You've put up with a lot as well."
Reflecting on how their appearance has changed over the years, Susanna said: "There's at least a stone difference for both of us."
Her co-star gave a scathing assessment on the pitfalls of early morning telly, adding: "It basically kills you. It destroys you, inch by inch."
During their time on-screen together they have reported on huge global events; from the Brexit referendum and Trump's election, to the London Bridge terror attack.
Over the years, the pair have also interviewed countless celebrity guests, and some of them recorded special anniversary messages.
Speaking outside the Queen Vic, EastEnders stars Danny Dyer and Jake Wood sent their best, with Jake saying: "Congratulations mate, always love you on the show."
